Someone I love suffers from Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar II Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The stress and strain associated with these treatable, but currently incurable, medical conditions affects the sufferer, family and friends alike but we're all coping as best we can. I don't have enough credits to bid at this time but I love your auction and, more specifically, the thoughts behind it! Best wishes to you and to all the other "Someone I love..." posters!

I have someone who suffers from many ailments as well. My mother has fibromyalgia, ptsd, depression, anxiety, and a couple other things. My fiancee has ADD, depression, and anxiety issues as well as myself having them. My younger sister who is 22 was diagnosed with blebs disease a rare condition that causes cysts on your lungs. She recently started having problems with her heart. I have many friends who have served and now suffer ptsd. I commend you for being so brave. You and your family are a ray of light on how the army truly is to people. It's sad that our men and women give their lives for this country but the country gives so little back. I will be watching this and I fanned you.

Thank you, I'll fan back. I agree. Most people don't know about the struggling behind the scenes. They read the articles about so & so getting injured and getting this medal or that... but after that? What will that medal do for you? It surely doesn't pay the bills when they give you a half-a**ed rating and the VA takes months on end to pick up. We've been waiting six longggg months & just got a letter saying it's still in the works to keep waiting.

Hi there, and kudos for offering such a great auction. I'm so sorry for your family's suffering, and I sincerely hope you all get the help you need and deserve.

I suffer from depression, anxiety, OCD, chronic pain, migraines, imbalanced hormones, constant craving for chocolate, and general b!tc#iness. ;) I'm a survivor of physical and mental abuse from my mother from as far back as I can remember, to age 13 when I was put into foster care. Someone I love, my Mom, died from complications due to colon cancer when I was 15. Our relationship had just started to heal, and I had finally gotten the mother I always should have had, and then she was taken away. Cancer of all kinds runs in my family.

I don't want to bid on the auction, I just wanted to share, give hugs and love to everyone suffering, and my hopes and prayers that you all find your healing, and to say thank you to a lovely young woman for yours and most of all your husband's service.

My oldest daughter is a soldier, currently serving her first enlistment clear across the country, and my husband, her Dad, is a non-combat veteran, also disability rated at 30%(the Army broke him, he likes to say lol). Go Army!!! :/ :)

My husband says the same thing, "they broke me, then tossed me to the side." They really effed my husband over on his rating, for all that he has wrong he only got 30%. I hope the VA has some sense when they give us his rating!

Someone I know better than anyone is in pain all day and night, suffers from bipolar disorder, PTSD and has no health ins to get help with any of this. That is the worst part. I understand your dilemma with the compensation. My boyfriend was a Ranger in the Army, jumped out of the plane and when he landed he shattered left knee and messed up the right. All that was paid for was the surgery for the left knee. Us being avid Harley riders, this is a major issue with him holding up the bike with the both of us on it. I would have thought that The Army would have done more for him and the rest of our Heros, ya know the ones that risk and lose their lives daily! I feel ya hun. I pray for good to come to your family. It is rough and days may be hard, however, talk to the one that is bigger and a miracle worker and wait for Him to move!

Can't the local health department help? The Army sure asks a whole lot & expects it to be done but when you ask a little of the Army you get a big no. I agree- someone once told me that tough times never last, tough people do.

Someone I love has heart disease. My mom was diagnosed with heart disease in October 2008 after an emergency open heart surgery. She was in the ER with chest pains and told she needed a balloon inserted, me & my sister decided we needed to go home. I packed up and headed to home to Virginia from Kentucky and my sister headed home from Maine. We saw her off before the ballon insertion but they came out & told us she needed a bypass now or she wouldn't make it through the night even in the hospital. They postponed a heart transplant to do her surgery; we met the woman whose husband was waiting for that heart. She sat with us and comforted us while our mom was in surgery- she was so kind and truly a blessing to us. She made it through the surgery and is as healthy as can be expected; the gentleman got his heart but we don't know what happened of him and his wife. Please, if you have a high risk of getting heart disease, get checked regularly.

Someone I love has Crohn's Disease. She suffers with it every day & some days are harder then others for her. But I love her very much & I do what I can for her. She does pretty good for someone who has Crohn's Disease. She does have Crohn's Disease pretty badly though. I can't imagine living with a disease like this. Even though she has Crohn's Disease I love her no matter what and always will. I say your auction & absolutely had to check into it and read the description. Sounds interesting. Thought I would definitely leave a comment. Thanks for doing this. I was also in the ARMY. And I also live with some illnesses some caused when I was in the ARMY. Awesome that you are an ARMY family.

Army Proud :) My husband has severe Crohn's as well, mostly because when he was still in the Army they didn't treat it. The VA did however start him on remicade but it didn't work. He goes for a follow up at the end of this month, I think he might need a couple of the infusions for it to work but he isn't optimistic. His doctors refuse to give him pain medicine even though he is in excruciating pain all day (not only for Crohn's but other ailments as well). I'll keep your friend in my thoughts.

On June 7, 2007 our lives were turned upside down. My husband was a passenger in a humvee that crashed due to the negligence of another Soldier. The humvee rolled multiple times before coming to a stop at the bottom of a hill. After two long years, we finally received a final diagnosis for his injuries; post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, narcolepsy as a result of a TBI, amnesia, headache syndrome and service aggravated Crohn's disease. He was medically retired at only 30% and told if he fought the MEB decision he would most likely walk away with nothing. So he took that $558 a month and seperated from the job he wanted to do for 20+ years. He has not yet received his VA rating/compensation. My husband is currently 22 years old.

<---- Someone I love... my husband has neurofibromatosis. He is the BEST thing thing that has ever happened to me. We've been married almost 21 years. I'm so very proud of him!! He never lets his pain get him down. He has clusters of the fibroma tumors entertwined very badly with the nerves in his left arm & hand- decompressing the nerves. He had major surgery at Duke in NC about 20 years ago to remove most of the mass but it has since grown back. He lacks full-strength or use of this arm & sometimes even loses his grip on things & it also causes him tremendous pain when storms are coming & during bad weather. He doesn't let it stop him from going to the gym every single day to work out & lift weights!!! =D ...Sadly he was once told by a dr. he was seeing during his physical therapy, to apply for disability bc there is no cure for NF & the tumors will always grow back :( But my hubby is stubborn LOL:) & told me he will NOT just throw in the towel. He refused to give-up on his dreams. He went-on to became a realtor =D This is him in my profile pic showing-off his hard work LMBO:) He is 46.

Someone else I love... our daughter was also diagnosed with neurofibromatosis at 6 months old bc NF is genetic. She also has scoliosis, which gives her terrible back pain, hip pain, knee pain, & ankle & feet pain. She is 19. She is the BEST gift my husband has ever given me <3

(((BIG BEAR HUGS)) & MANY Thank You's to you & your family for service & sacrifice!!!
May God Bless all of you~

I started to write about all the stuff that has been going on in our family and I read all the medical problems everyone else had it is like reading the same book plus I do take care of my 84 year old mother who has alhiemers she lives with me and I am disabled but nothing compares to each and everyone of ya'll most are very young and I am soon to be 61 so it is easier for me to handle than it is to hear other peoples tragedies especially the young military who have given so much for us to have so much we are blessed as a nation and we should stay on our congressman about getting better benifits for all our young men and women in the service .

I'm sorry to hear about your husband but I thank him and all our service men, women and families for their sacrifices everyday (including my fiance, who was in the army and the national guard). Someone I love (me) has severe neuro-lyme with complications resulting in brain damage, anxiety, depression, insomnia, IBS, mitochondrial disorder, fibromyalgia and diabetes. Someone else I love has heart disease and diabetes (my dad) and is doing wonderful after his double by-pass a year and a half ago! :-) I can empathize with you. I'm now on social security disability and don't make enough money to survive and don't qualify for Medicare until December. My fiance is out of work and receiving no benefits.
