I have gotton a few cell phones off here and Unlocked them Myself, but you have to know and understand what your doing to get it done yourself. Its really simple after you study and work with at it a few days. My first time ever Unlocking a phone was an HTC 4, and after you read and understand how to get to the boot-loader section in the phone, thats where it shows that it is "LOCKED" To that carrier service. You have to use your computer and USB to hook to the phone and follow some directions but all the info is out on the net for u to do it your self for almost any Android OS phone. It paid to learn how to do it cause now i have my buddys or referred ppl calling me asking them to "Unlocked" their phone or "ROOT" their phones ,change roms etc.. Rooting makes the phone 99% better, It unlocks everything on the phones and gives you full Administrator access, Your then able to change the ROMS of the phone and do allot more stuff with it than you ever thought you could(Just some info for those who may not know.. One of the best percs of Rooting a android, is you get to use you Tethering(Making your phone into a Hotspot) so a laptop can pick up service Free, Most carries who offer Tethering or WIFI hotspot on their phones charge a 15+ dollar fee a month to use the option. Sorry for the long presences i was just wanting to try and help anyone out with info about taking it to another carrier and the xtra neat stuff you can do to make your phones soo much better than when they come out the Box. To the person asking about if this phone can be switched to Virgin Mobile, Yes it can but the Phone as of now would Have to Be "Unlocked" From the T-mobile carrier. The owner who is auctioning off this phone could make it easy and call and request for a Unlock code from T-MOBIL for the phone, and then have it unlocked, Then it would be able for Use on T-mobile Whatever other Companys Use CDMA Technology phones. If he does not unlock it himself, You can still Pay to Flash the phone meaning Its UNLOCKED AND OPEN TO ANY CARRIER .. But you have to Pay to have it flashed. You might could Call T-Mobil yourself and ask them to unlock the phone and explain to them you won it on a auction online. But If for any reason this phone was under contract and was not paid off or has outstanding Bills on it, then that will cause a problem.
