Thanks for sharing about that little girl. That is very sweet and touching. I'm kind of in the same situation with a lady that has 2 kids and another coming in September, out here in Hawaii...2 weeks ago, her husband and my friend died in a diving accident!...sooo sad!!

ooh gosh.... kalee had me the minute she opened her mouth and started asking me a gazillion questions haha. i would always see her playing alone w/the same doll when i came home and i knew she had no one to play with cuz there were no kids her age living here at the time so i would let her hang with me. soon after i met her grams and then learned about the parents. i've even tried to help her mom a few times but sadly realized it was wasted effort.
but it's not always fun fun for this lil girl... i make kalee work hard, especially in dance she loves it so much so i also use it as a tool to keep grades up because if they go below a B no more dancing until they're back up again. and i'm learning a lot from it too. one thing's for sure.... when i decide to become a mom... i'll already have had a whole lot of practice haha
