This amazingly versatile tree can be grown year round in tropical climates and grown as an annual in temperate zones. As far as an edible, beneficial plant...this is hard to beat. The flowers, leaves and seeds are all incredibly nutritious. Also used in healing and can be made into a cooking oil. Leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. The young pods can be cooked and eaten with a taste similar to asparagus. Also can be made into a health drink and is useful to purify water in poorer regions of the world.
