I have mine in an area that receives some direct sun and some shade.It appears to be thriving in that.It has grown vines over 12 feet long in the past 3 years.And I have trimmed it quite a bit to help keep it contained in the area I am growing it.I hope that helps, if you have more questions, please ask. I love talking about the things I grow. :-)
