I have a plastic bag of white water beads that when added to water slowly grows larger. It takes about 4 hours to do so, or a little longer. You can use these for decorative purposes or you can put a pretty plant in the beads. After the beads have grown, you pour out the excess water (can use a colander) They come in different colors. I have them all over my house with plants,And some I just have in pretty shaped vases.. When the water beads start to decrease in size, just pour them into a large container again with water and let them grow, then drain them and then put them back in your decorative vases again. It says you can use distilled water if you wish, but I use regular tap water. These can last up to 2 years. They will not go in fish tanks.
