- "One day while busking on the streets of Dublin, a passerby asked bodhran player Ronan Snodaigh the name of his band. At a loss for words he quickly replied "Kila". People have been asking what it means ever since. There is a different answer every time.
The bands' traditional instruments - tin whistles, percussion, pipes, and an assortment of strings and woodwinds - are infused with a modern urban consciousness from the band members' eclectic backgrounds and inspirations. Recently described as "swiriling neo-celtic dance music ...with a hypnotic percussive undercurrent" (Fold Roots), Kila's rhythems and dance elements insure intense and ferociously energetic performances."
