Bob Harrow is currently at the World Championships with the Australian team. He started coaching at 17 years old and has been with them ever since. He was inducted into the Softball hall of fame. The glove the ball sits in comes from his diner "field of dreams" which has been sold. They were used for ice cream and are inscribed. Only 50 were made and on 40 of them are left.

Career
Bob began his coaching career at the age of 17. Canadian born, Bob first came to Australia on tour with the Canadian based Mil-Dortwins in 1985 for the inaugural South Pacific Classic held in Melbourne. In 1986, Bob returned to Australia to take charge of ACT's coaching development area and senior women's team. During this time, he established the Eastern Fastpitch League and was appointed head coach of the ACT state teams. In this position, Bob has coached ACT men's and women's teams and been involved in 4 National Championships. He has 6 senior John Reid Shield Australian Open Men's Championship titles.In 2001, Bob was appointed Head Coach of the Aussie Steelers for the Doreen Dalton Memorial tour. Following an impressive 4thplace during the tournament, Bob led his team to a historic first-ever victory over the New Zealand Black Sox in the final game in a 4 game test series. He returned to New Zealand in 2003 to take his team to victory in the Dean Schick Memorial Tour, making Australia the first international team to win the strong club event. Bob was named All-star coach at the conclusion of the competition.



Bob continued his success with the Aussie Steelers during a tour of Canada in July 2003, winning gold at the provincial Neil Leard Memorial Tournament in Victoria (BC) and 3rd place at the Kelowna Super Pages Invitational in Kelowna. In 2004, Bob led the Aussie Steelers to a bronze medal at the ISA Men's Softball World Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand. In 2009, Bob took the team to a whole new level, when the Aussie Steelers were crowned ISF Men's World Champions of fastpitch Softball after beating New Zealand 5-0 in the gold medal game.



Bob has been inducted into the Softball Australia Hall of Fame, the ACT Sports Hall of Fame for his contribution to the development of elite level Softball in both ACT and Australia and was awarded Life membership with Softball Australia in 2010.
