Does it matter what year it was bought, just as long as its an HP Pavillion?

i sorry that i didn't list this inform too,but i will now.if you look at the pic for the #1 disc.
it is disc 1 of 2 windows 98 second edition (w98se).i would only use it with a hp computer desktop/laptop that running wins 98-wins 98se.a wins 98se is a upgrade
from wins 98.trying it with a new computer like windows 2000/me/xp and so on ,would be a downgrade.i think you can't do that.i only use the #1 to fdisk and format some harddrives.i never really notice that before,the w98se on the disc.
when i used the disc,it did boot up to wins98.great ?.thanks, ranman53

i 'm a newbe,join last sunday.also i getting old too.
all the information on my 4 items,well 3 as now,because they flag my 64bits windows 7 ulitmate operating system because the inform that on the item wasn't true
or didn't have the right information.i got these two w7/u 32bit and 64bit from www.sell.com.i use the 32bit and it's great.i pay 20-25 dollars for both.that a good deal!so i know that the 32bit works,but the 64bit works only with a computer o/system that running 64bit.i don't have a computer that uses that o/s.thanks
