The listing, Kale-Red Russian Variety-Heirloom-Great for fall planting! has ended.

Red Russian is a variety of Kale belonging to the Mustard genus (Brassica oleracea 'Red Russian'). 'Red Russian' is considered a heirloom open pollinated cultivar. Leaves are a Shamrock green color.
Red Russian is an unusual and beautiful variety that grows 2 feet tall. Leaves are bitter-free, very tender, and are intersected by purple-pink veins, lightly tinged with purple on the margins. In cold weather the leaves turn reddish-purple and are very attractive.
Oak-shaped, gray-green, toothed leaves with deep-purple veins and stems. Very tender leaves turn dark green when cooked. Harvest baby greens at 25 days.
Red Russian grows as a Biennial. Being a Biennial, it tends to grow best over the course of two years. Red Russian is known for its being stemless and growing to a height of approximately 91.0 cm (2.96 feet).
Being a fairly low maintenance plant, Red Russian Kale is normally quite easy to grow.
Auction is for 50 seeds packaged by Seed Savers Exchange for the 2014 growing season. Germination rate is 98%. Seeds are organic, heirloom and non-GMO.

Yes.....Kale is a great leafy green to plant for fall. It tolerates cold well, and can be grown very late into the season with minimal protection. :)
