Not wanting to slack on doing my homework on something I am offering.... I found out the following. When it comes to the "ty version" they are calling it a guinea pig. It was incorporated like that in order to marry the two brands. If you go to just the Iwako site, it says "hamster." But that does not carry the "Ty" name with it.

I know the jury is out on this, but it's give and take with what you want to call it.
