Obviously this is a stock photo. I can assure you that ALL of the books from my own personal library (of well over 1000 books) are in near pristine condition. While they have all been read, some several times, they are all well taken care of with no rips, tears or stains. While I do not smoke, I will not guarantee the environment in which they lived before they came to be with me. This particular hardback book is in VERY GOOD condition. The dust jacket is a little wrinkled, but everything else is fine.
