Sorry, it is not the right color for real amethyst. Looks like old glass, but very nice, and most likely not real gold. Look for markings on the back of it for PL (plated gold) if none, probably brass.
Is the frame very thin, and hollowed out in the back, or a thicker metal, pls? Thanx

there are no markings on it. THe back is solid except where the stone is set in. The frame is not thin but not real thick either.
