Hi! There is one BIG reason I'm listing this system. No it does not work, it has the 'Yellow light of Death' issue. This is the oldest PS3 model made, the model number is CECHA01. I didn't know how rare and valuable this system is, until I was made aware of it by a great Listian below. Sony is interested in all of the 'Fat Boy' models as they're called, and will send anyone who ships them they're older models (such as this one!) along with $99, will receive a newer model, 120 GB system. You can verify this info at the Sony Headquarters in California (I'd have to hear it straight from the horse's mouth!! :)). They're number is, 1-800-345-7669. My husband and I have been planning on doing this ourselves But, we have three babies and never have been able to gather the extra $99! SO, since we have another system anyways, I'm happy to pass this on to my fellow Listians!!!! All cords will be included, and if you're interested in trading it in after all, I will send you the shipping info. Though I've been informed that this is way more valuable than the new ones. ***Also, after a recent issue involving an angry Listian who didn't receive they're FREE item as fast as they wanted, I have decided to inform everybody that I am a busy woman with three babies, a husband, and I'm in college, so I try my best to ship my Listia & Ebay items as soon as the auctions are up. HOWEVER unfortunately, sometimes it takes a bit just a bit longer. Never more than 9 days, usually alot sooner. Oh that is the same model I have... I shouldn't have asked that question lol... you have the rare and elusive 60GB launch model right there. That mofo is worth a pretty penny and to many people including myself is by far the most valuable PS3 ever made. I'll be honest anyone who ever sends this to sony for a newer one should be kicked! lol but seriously... Sadly I only have just over 2000 credits and you'd get everyone if you were willing. I have a friend who would die to have this model. How many creds were you looking to get? cause in a few day here I'll have another thousand? I doubt just over 3k will be enough but I can always hope right!

OMG! You have totally tickled me to death with your comment!!! I knew it was the oldest model, but I had NO IDEA it was worth a pretty penny! I got this from Sony after our very first one was unrepairable! Paid them $160 to fix the first one and they couldn't. Ya know what, thank you so much for lettin' me know how valuable this is, instead of tryin' to snatch it while knowing it's worth! I extended the days for ya :)

But you also realize that here you are paying any cash for it. Lets say I but one on ebay for 60$ then have to go and spend another 40$ to get it working... there's 100$ right there... here it's free! so really everyone is getting a great deal. and yes buddy every day they're getting more and more rare. I had one heck of a time finding mine about two months ago. Of the six gamestops I checked I found just one and I live in phoenix think about how hard this would be to find in a small town and it was more expensive than most of the newer model Ps3 aside from maybe the 320gb model. like I said before any true gamer would seek this model with backwards compatibility four USB ports and memory card slots. This is a question my husband would LOVE to answer! lol He loves to convert XBOX 360 fans to PS3. There is one thing bout' the Xbox 360, and that is the online play. Apparently they pay for their internet and it's a bit better. Thanks for stopping by! :)

I myself have a original 80GB ps3. From what I know its the rare one. 4 USB slots backward capable. It got the YLOD and I fixed it myself. I have seen these older models on ebay and they do seem to go up to or over $100. Fixing is easy all you need is youtube vid, a heating gun and some thermal grease. Plus you can always upgrade the HDD ( i did to a 350GB). So this is a good deal, specially with free shipping.

Lol there is absolutely no way I'll be able to afford this beast however I'll throw you one more bone to really rake in the creds. This Yellow Light Of Death or YLOD can be fixed at home or at shops in town. It is a fairly easy repair and all that is needed is Solder, a soldering Iron, and Thermal putty(preferably very good putty) you and or a fellow listian can have this PS3 up and running for about 40$... Which is INSANELY worthwhile for this model anyone who doesn't believe me go ahead and search how to fix the YLOD in google and you can easily find step by step instructions. Like I said earlier anyone who ships this sony for them to take should be kicked. if you can edit your info on the item I suggest adding this cause then you'll go through the roof on creds... Once people know this they find it much easier to spend 40k+ creds on it. I provided the same info for someone on here already and if I recall correctly thats roughly what he made however I don't believe he had the Launch 60gb like you do. i'll be watching this as want you to get insane offers on it and am curious what you'll get. I wish you luck

My exact same Ps3 gave my the "yellow light o death" also... I took the entire system apart ( not difficult at all!!) cleaned every bit wit 90% rubbing alcohol,especially the "eyes" and greased the side bars for disk load. I then "re attached" the power supply cable via clear nail polish. Presto...works like it just came out of the box.

yes this is the HOLY GRAIL on PS3 SYStems backwards ps2 play 4usb, media reader and yes PS3 is the most powerful system out there its just that game makers dont use all that power except like games killzone 2,3 GOW3,uncharted2,3 and many more are showing how powerful the system can be but there is one con to owning the cecha01 is that it uses 180watts vs 73 on the slim so its like a frig they tend to overheat i will when i can afford it to get the 320gb move bundle for $350 thats a good deal WELL GOOD LUCK CASEY19 I HOPE IT SELLS FOR 5000-10,000 CREDS AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND TO THE WINNER I ONLY HAVE 3,000 CREDS

Hey... I just thought I would chime in and let you know that YES they are right about your FATBOY being worth alot...I sold one just like your with the same model number except mine was the 80gig model and it brought almost 7000 credits......SO.......you kinda have an idea of what it COULD go for and I had mine listed for 7 days. The guy that bought it said he could fix it at home but also said that you could send it into SONY along with $99.00 and you could get a new 120 gig system.
