Description

The listing, Sewing Machine Knee Controller-for Vintage Machines-NEW has ended.

This is a new/old-stock sewing machine knee controller and cord combo for vintage machines. This can be mounted inside a sewing machine cabinet so that the knee is used to control the sewing machine's speed rather than a foot pedal. This can be used to replace an existing knee controller or to convert from a foot pedal to a knee controller. This will work with machines which have 2 outlet-style plugs--one for the light, and one for the motor. Most Japanese and many vintage machines were made with this set-up. One could also detach the cord from the pedal and use just the knee controller with another style of cord, or one could use the cord as a replacement with an existing foot (or other) pedal. This set came from an old sewing machine store I bought several years ago and has been in smoke-free storage for years. The cords are flexible and pliable, and the controller is all-metal but not rusted. The knee lever portion folds-up for storage when not in use. Thanks for looking! This weighs in the 1-2 pound range for priority mail shipping which bidder is responsible for unless bids reach over 600 credits, then shipping will be FREE (US only)!

Box? This is a knee speed controller for a vintage style sewing machine which has a plug for the motor and light separately. This controller is designed to be mounted on the inside of a wooden sewing machine cabinet. As you sit at the cabinet, you use the side of your knee to push against the lever and control the speed of the machine rather than using a foot pedal in the floor. I hope this helps!

The mechanical and electrical components of the controller that make it work are inside it, just like any sewing machine speed controller. The main portion attaches to the inside side of the sewing machine cabinet with a screw, and the inside of the controller should never be exposed when plugged into the wall. If you really want a photo of the inside of the controller to see how it works, I can add one. The knee lever portion does hinge so that you can raise it up when not in use so it isn't hanging out from underneath the bottom of the sewing machine cabinet then lowered when in use. The power cord plugs into the wall, and there is a power block for inserting the plugs from the sewing machine's motor and light plugs (how you connect this unti to your machine for power/speed control/light power). It is a very simple item to use and install and replaces original knee controllers or converts a vintage machine from foot controller to knee controller.
