The listing, Fossil made RELIC watch has ended.

This is a RELIC brand watch made by Fossil. I bought it about 8 months ago and I hardly wear it. All watches made by Fossil have a 12 year warranty, even RELIC. I currently work at Fossil and have several watches. I just need to get rid of some. Water resistant to 165 feet, great condition.

How does the back of the watch come off ? Jeweler's tool or does it pops off when slot is found to insert small screwdriver ?

With a screwdriver, under the tab. However some are harder than others. Some watch companies won't change Fossil watch batteries because of the 12 year warranty, so if you do need a battery, a Fossil store would be your best bet.

No, it doesn't need a battery. Batteries last anywhere from 1 to 2 years, this watch has had its original battery for about 9 months.
