925 does usually mean,that but these days lots of rings are coming from china and they mark em even though they r only plated or no silver at all. The rings usually have a light shiny look like this one. That doesnt mean its for sure so thats y people ask about testing. I dont know how many times ive gotten stuff on listia claiming to be sterling and is not Sterling at all and its marked 925. Very pretty ring though.

I guess others thought like me a 925 stamp meant sterling silver. I doubt there will be a lot of members who "tested" their rings/jewelry before putting them on listia. For me....As long as it don't turn my finger green and I like the piece I bid....

is it real sterling silver? has it been tested? very interested, but have across some fake stamped once in the recent past

It is stamped 925. No it has not been tested. I thought 925 stamped on a silver ring means it is 92.5%=sterling silver. ☺
