HELLO, I have here today a beautifully detailed Japanese
Wedding Fan brought back originally from Japan by a very
sweet lady I once knew about 20 years ago. She gave this fan to me along with the story of how she got it. In her
youth before she married she became a missionary and went to Japan to live and work at a Girls School to teach
them to speak English. Her boyfriend and herself, to which she new most of her life, missed each other so much that he went to Japan with her parents and they were married there. They both stayed in Japan 13 yrs.
teaching children English, until they were evacuated due to the impending war. Then they came home and
started a family of there own. She was one of the nicest
ladies I ever knew, and to see her home filled with things from Japan and the Geisha Dolls of all sizes. It was a Museum visit every time. This HAND CARVED BONE FAN, in its original box, was her wedding gift from the children in her school. Thanks for looking.

Oh dagnabbit I have over 30 fans. I collect them, but only the good ones like this one. I would be so happy to own this baby! It would take center stage on my wall for sure. I have a few bone fans but yours is much nicer than mine...I got it at an auction house so I did not see it close so they were both damaged and I glued then back as good as I could. Ok well you have awesome items but I am just getting ready to start selling out again but it will be days waiting for I make the majority of the items I sell. So far no one has had a problem that I know of with the jewelry I make but Postage is what kills me having no money coming in and my husband does not allow me to have a bank card or see the papers in the mail that show how much you have and such. I looked once and he came very very close to beating me up again but he remembered that I was only a couple months out from having titanium in my lower back and two wires onto my spinal chord plus the battery they put in my hip. Well they had to redo it for my hip where battery was was in rough shape. I was full of yukky stuff there so they cleaned it out and put a different battery and a second cable as well on the spine. Ok I am messed up and don't remember what I was saying...stupid me and no memory...sorry I will just go away now. Have a wonderful prosperous auctions.
Namaste~

Thanks! I have loved fans forever I think! Don't know why I just do! I have one that goes on the wall above my sofa and it is huge and I love it! Love everything I have won from you especially my adorable quail! They jump up onto my porch in the winter to get food that I leave out for the birds

How adorable, I love Quails too. I also love Fans and had a huge collection when I was young and couldn't afford more expensive antiques. Some how I just haven't been able to give this away till now. I think it is rare to find a hand carved bone
fan and hope others realize that too. I love bird watching, hummingbirds, Cardinals
blue orioles and blue jays are in my yard nearly all the time. I also confess that I too
also feed them all to make them come as close to my porch to. I love watching them from my kitchen window where I can see them all in a short span of time. Don't see many Quail here, but saw about 20 turkey go thru our yard last week before sun down. That only happens twice a year. Oh....what makes us happy huh. We are a lot alike aren't we?

Yes ma'am! I also feed the deer the pheasant grosbeaks hummingbirds Eric send me your email and I will you some cute cute pictures of them ok? They are so much fun! We have twin fawns this year oh they are fun! The hummingbirds buzz right by me and hover just outside my slider to tell me they need more food lol! They should be fat but aren't!

We sound so much alike. I love animals , accept snakes. I avoid them as much as
possible.......I have 8 Hummingbird feeders so they are at different windows near
a feeder. I can see them from most anywhere in my house. With all the feeders and
something in bloom nearly always, you would think they would be fat, but not here to.

Speaking of snakes I don't like them either. When I was young such a Long long time ago my brother put one down my blouse. Ugh! Saw one when I went to water my flowers and saw one eeeek! Gadzooks I don't like them!

YUP.....I too had 3 brothers who thought any snake, dead or alive was fun to throw
down my shirt. One time I was sitting on the toilet as a little kid, and my brothers
threw in a live snake and I passed out. When I came to my mom had the belt and
my brothers were taking there turn over her lap. Revenge was served with hot
crossed buns that day, I hate to say it......but ......I enjoyed seeing them with a sore
bottom and often think about it.

Hand held fans are another one of my collections. I have never seen a bone fan but have many wood or bamboo fans. I have 1 fan that came with a stand. It I have no idea how to set it up on the stand. If you have any time and some advice I would greatly appreciate A personal message.
Thanks for any help you can give

Does the fan still open and fold without complications? I brought one back to the US from Yokohama in the 60s, unfortunately it was stolen couple years later. It brings back just seeing this fan brings back many wonderful memories of my stay in Japan. Fanned and watching
