The listing, **VERY OLD** Late 1800's SILVER Dessert Spoon with Crest and Hallmarks has ended.

up for auction is a late 19th Century (1800's) silver dessert spoon.

It features a family crest stamped 'AW' into the spoon handle, in ornate handwriting. On the bottom of the spoon handle, there are 5 separate hallmarks stamped into the silver, as follows;

-'T.S' in an oval,
-'K' in an octagon,
-A scroll in an octagon, with one side wavy,
-A lion in the same shape as the scroll,
-The Queen's head in a circle.

It measures 5.5in. long. and appears to be well-used. Nevertheless, a spectacular, beautiful item that can fit in any silver collector's collection, or any antique-lovers cabinet! :)

Very old is right... found this info about hallmarks: http://www.antiquesilverspoons.co.uk/hallmarks.htm Looks like this spoon could be from late 1700's to early 1800's... just guessing tho... some similar hallmarks on that web site. Very cool.

No, but upon research of the hallmarks, I believe that they indicate at least a very high silver content. I have a hallmarks guide that I used, and also used the internet.
