The listing, Hall McCormick Maroon Teapot With Infuser has ended.
6 Cup Teapot made by Hall for McCormick Teas as a promotional item. These were manufactured by Hall beginning in the 1930's with production and distribution peaking in the late 40's and tapering off over the next several decades. This teapot measures 7" high by 9" wide and has no cracks or crazing. There is a flea bite on the lid and a couple areas where the glaze is thin, especially on the spout, but these are manufacturing issues not damage.
I am no Hall expert but enjoyed using this teapot for making tea in. The clay from the Ohio river valley has exceptional heat retention qualities, and these pots will hold tea hot substantially longer than porcelain or foreign made pottery. Made in the USA and from a smoke free home.
These were giveaways by the McCormick Tea Company for many decades. They were meant for everyday use, like Corelle ware, so a lot of them sustained damage. This is in very nice condition. The ironic thing is that McCormick invented the tea bag but gave away teapots meant to be used for loose tea. ;)
This seller is AWESOME! I gotta tell ya, I don't know her, never met her but her I can attest that her auctions are perfectly described and arrive clean & in showroom condition even if they are used & they quickly arrive right on time! Bid Bid Bid!!
Thank you so much, my dear, for your kind words. Such a pleasure doing business with someone who appreciates the little extra effort I put into making sure my items are nicer than most resale shops. :)
