Battle of New Orleans was written by a Arkansas school principal, Jimmy Driftwood. The iconic hit is Grammy Hall of Fame song that was parodied by Homer and Jethro. the parody was called: The Battle of Kookamonga.
Horton was the first person to sing historical ballads. Horton later died in a car crash.
Sink the Bismarck was also parodied by Homer and Jethro and had the same title.
