Up for grabs are two Johnny Horton (1925-1960) cassettes and a Jimmy Dean cassette. Songs include "Sink the Bismarck", "North to Alaska", and his iconic, Battle of New Orleans."

Battle of New Orleans was written by a Arkansas school principal, Jimmy Driftwood. The iconic hit is Grammy Hall of Fame song that was parodied by Homer and Jethro. the parody was called: The Battle of Kookamonga.

Horton was the first person to sing historical ballads. Horton later died in a car crash.

Sink the Bismarck was also parodied by Homer and Jethro and had the same title.

Jimmy Dean followed Horton in the historical ballad genre and sang PT 109. Also included in this cassette is Big John and its' sequel Cajun Queen.

Questions & Comments

The HMS Hood had the highest fatally rate of any capital ship during WWII. Only three survivors out of a crew of 1300. Ted Briggs was one of the three.

The HMS Prince of Wales and Rodney, two of the ships that had a part in the Sinking of the Bismarck, were sunk by the Japanese before the end of 1941.

The German sailors were placed in POW camps on the Canadian Shield.

Jimmy Dean also made his own brand of sausage. Baseball cards came with the Jimmy Dean sausage packs from 1991-93, 1995, 1997.
