The listing, 15 Red Canna Seeds has ended.
These seeds came from my Mother's garden. There have been Cannas growing there since at least 1974. They are not treated with any kind of commercial fertilizer. My Mother was all about organic before they even started using the word. Back then, it was just about being thrifty and never throwing away anything that can be useful.
The plants these seeds came from are plain red with plain green leaves, grow about 5 feet tall and can be propagated either by seed or rhizomes. The picture of the flower came from the internet as I didn't have a camera with me when I harvested these. They were harvested September 8 this year.
"Cannas are showy, colorful plants used in flowerbeds, boxes, tubs and borders. They grow from 2 to 10 feet tall. They have large oval shaped leaves and massive clusters of flowers throughout the summer and fall. They come in a variety of colors, ranging from whites, yellows, pinks and reds, and do best in moist, fertile soil and in full sun. The rhizomes must be dug up and stored in areas that get cold enough to frost, but can remain in the ground all year in the Deep South where the weather stays warmer.
