FQs (Fat Quarters) are Appx 18" x 21"

Usually if you buy a 1/4 yard of fabric you get a small Strip piece that is 9" x 44"
But in a FQ they take 1/2 a yard and cut it in two so you get kind of a square that you can do more things with. Can't think of a good example: Maybe you want to make a small toss pillow but the 1/4 yard isn't the right shape.....so you would buy a Fat Quarter.....they are sold separately from the regular fabric so just go to the store and ask where their Fat Quarters. If you still have questions, please let me know. I want to make sure I explained it well enough for you to understand.
