This bed is for a tiny baby that doesn't move around and is not to pick up with baby in it, you just set it up and leave alone while the baby is in there, the straps are to carry when is folded, I used it with my baby on trips up to 5 months old because my baby usually stayed in the same place the whole night, thanks for looking and good luck!
