What does nickle free mean? My girl brake out from fake metals. Would this mean, they maybe able to wear them?

I called Betsy Johnson customer service, but they couldn't tell me if the whole thing is nickel free..I know that the posts are nickel free, but I am not sure if the brass contains any nickel.
I would think if they were going to make the posts nickel free they would make sure there would be no nickel in the rest of the earring but that may not be the case. Unless your daughter can test them without crazy consequences..I would say don't risk it.
