The listing, Native American Prayer (Smudging) Feather has ended.

Up for auction is a handmade Native American Prayer Feather. The burning of herbs for emotional, and spiritual purification is a common practice among many religious and spiritual groups including Native American traditions. The Prayer feather is used to "smudge" or purify a room, a person,or an object. The Native belief is that the smoke from your smudging bundle (white sage, sweet grass, cedar) attaches itself to the negative energy in an area, or on a person or object and as the Prayer feather fans the smoke, it clears the negativity from the area, object or person. It is used in healing rituals, to carry the prayers of the user on the smoke up to the Creator, during meditation, and for purification.

This particular Prayer Feather is made from wild turkey wing feathers and turkey fluffs with a soft sueded two-tone deerskin handle, wrapped in natural hemp. It was made by myself, a Chickasaw/Cherokee artist. It is approximately 16 inches long. Perfect for smudging, prayers, healing work, or for decoration.
