Well I am going to post a few pics that might help (how to's and lashes I prefer)
but if you want step by step instructions and tips I can email to you just let me know :)
I am wearing false lashes now and I swear by them :) I wear mine for days with a few tricks I have learned

You use a tool (I never pour glue directly into anything)
I use a nail art stick to put a thin line of glue on lash band
You can use that or anything with a flat end
o put a thin line of lash glue on band atop lashes
Let it get tacky (wait for a few seconds like 10), then carefully place on you lid just at lash line
If you get glue on hands or tools just wait till its dry
It will run off or you can pull it off
Never put glue on your eyelid directly
Its messy and won't work because your eyes will water
They must be dry
It helps sometimes to do a base eyeshadow first or liner so you know where to place lashes and the eyeshadow is dry so it will adhere to it better than a moist eyelid

Depends
If wearing black eyeshadow or liner Already, or lashes with a thick black band, I usually recommend using the black
If wearing the spaced lashes kind like in my last picture I recommend white (dries clear) For more natural look then if needed I fill in spaces with liner
However here's the thing the black will dry visibly black like I'm sure you know but if you use too much it will look like heavy liner but gunky not smooth so it will look
Whereas the white, if you only use a little will not show at all

So in closing, if you don't want to over dramatisize eyes stick with white /that dries clear
Ps its worth it to use the white that dries clear kind
I recommend Ardell clear for lash strips (it will be white but dry clear)
NOT clear for individual lashes!!!!!!!!
Truly clear is meant for individual lashes and has a stronger smell and can sting eyes. I hate it never use it. I still use white that dries clear even on individuals, I just dip the top into a tiny bit of lash glue I squeeze out I to my makeup mixing plate (or mirror)

As truly clear...Your eyes may react to it if you try to use as regular glue on full set

I only like Ardell glue but a close second in a pinch is duo brand
