Description

The listing, Numismatic Coin; Canada; 10 cent; 1968; 50% silver has ended.

Thank you for browsing.

This auction was inspired by another auction for the same coin last week. As (at the time) I didn’t have one, I was getting prepared to fight it out with another Canadian Listian when someone else used the GIN option. The next day my neighbour gave me two of these, so I thought it only proper to share - this one’s for you Sophie. :-)

The winner of this auction will receive one (1) 1968 Canadian 10 cent (dime) coin with a 50% silver content. This coin is in circulated condition; has a metal composition of 50% silver and 50% copper; diameter of 18.034mm; weight 2.33 grams and mintage (for 50% silver) was 70,000,000.

PLEASE NOTE - You will receive the exact coin shown in the photos. This coin is in circulated condition and has some residue on both the obverse and reverse (as seen in photos). This coin was confirmed as 50% silver by weight - the .999 nickel version only weighs 2.07 grams. Coin easel NOT included.

Free shipping across the globe on this one...well, at least, everywhere Canada Post ships to.

INTERESTING FACT

If you think that having both 50% silver and .999 nickel dimes in the same year is confusing…

In 1967 “during the issue, the alloy was changed” from 80% silver to 50% silver and “the alloy varieties are not distinguishable by eye” and to make it even more confusing - they both weigh 2.33 grams. The same thing is true of the 25 cent (quarter) coins. :-/
