Description

The listing, RARE HIGHLY DETAIL 1955 METAL BANK OF PEG LEG PIRATE SITTING ON TREASURE CHEST! EXCELLENT FOR AGE. has ended.

Keep in mind this piece is 59 years old!!! even has the parrot on the pirate's shoulder! this bank is definitely a prized collectible. absolutely beautiful piece if there ever was one. 5 1/2" high, & 4 3/4" at the widest point. i have no idea what type of metal this is, it does have some weight to it. also, i have only damp wiped it off. photograph # 4 shows some silver sheen or color on the dark bronze color. i truly believe this is from age. silver around the highlighted facial features as well. photograph #5, the back of the treasure chest and the figure atop, it has a copyright c in a circle and 55 stamped below it. verifying the year of manufacturing. the last photograph is the bottom inside. i never remember a plug being on this, only some felt at one time. we were only allowed to keep it on the dresser and not play with it. in storage for years. *** i believe my auctions are fair, and i am an honest person. *** i provide the best possible information & photographs that i can at the time. i do not believe in return credits unless i simply do not mail out your item(s). i am available for any questions you may have and you need not bid if you wish not to. if i am not offering a gin on a specific auction you are welcome to offer a gin although i do not always do them. verified address for shipping only. should you decide to bid on my auction i wish you the best of luck bidding. i appreciate you taking the time to view my auction. i really do.thank you. jo bidding on this one starts where it does due to age, condition, listing fees, listia percentage, and shipping costs.

Sort of have an idea? We can see part of the Blue Ridge Parkway from our home. Asheville, NC. Been here since the 60's. My gosh the growth is incredible. Thanks for your bid. I don't know what you would clean the bank with, and it does not look like it ever had a plug with that size hole. Jo

I have a couple of more banks of the same material with no loss of color I am debating on whether or not to get rid of if you are interested. If you are maybe I can send you some pictures in the next few days or so. Jo

I just wiped it off, There is some white in the corners of where the fold of the arms are and deep crevasses are. I don't know what it is from. I just damp wiped it enough to get the dust off of it. I think they had original bottom that peeled back to get the money out. Don't you?

It has not been exposed to air in years and years. It was in storage in wrap and then a plastic trash bag in a sealed box. Not sure. May be Patina?
