The listing, Numismatic Coin Lot; Canada; 2002; “Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee” has ended.
Thank you for browsing.
In 2002, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, Canada issued double dated (1952-2002) circulation coins. Unlike regular Canadian coins, the date (1952-2002) is presented on the obverse of the coin with the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The 50 cent coin uses the same obverse used on the 1953 Commemorative Medal of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. This medal is available in one of my other current auctions - http://www.listia.com/auction/19845179-commemorative-medal-canada-1953-queen-ii - and ends on September 21st.
The winner of this auction will receive one of each of the following 2002 Canadian coinage: 50 cent (half dollar); 25 cent (quarter); 10 cent (dime); 5 cent (nickel) and 1 cent (penny) - all in circulated condition. The 50 cent coin has a metal composition of nickel-plated steel, diameter of 27.13mm, weight 6.9 grams and mintage of 14,400,000; the 25 cent coin has a metal composition of nickel-plated steel, diameter of 23.88mm, weight 4.4 grams and mintage of 156,000,000; the 10 cent coin has a metal composition of nickel-plated steel, diameter of 18.03mm, weight 1.75 grams and mintage of 251,000,000; the 5 cent coin has a metal composition of nickel-plated steel, diameter of 21.20mm, weight 3.95 grams and mintage of 134,000,000; and the 1 cent coin has a metal composition of copper-plated zinc, diameter of 19.05mm, weight 2.35 grams and mintage of 715,500,000.
