FREE: Vintage Hematite/Marcasite?? Bird Pin

This vintage pin from the 60's is so cute. The body and head of the bird appear to have Hematite or Marcasite but I'm not 100% sure about either. The only marking on this pin is on the pin 'clasp' itself. It reads GERMANY. I do know that this was purchased in Germany. It is silver-tone but again, there are no markings so I don't believe it is real silver. After looking at other pictures of marcasite jewelry, I'm pretty convinced that's what it is.

It's in excellent condition and would make an excellent gift.
