An Amazon $50 gift card just ended for 85,000 credits and a $15 starbucks just sold for 26,000. These always sell for close to the equivalent of twice or more of the face value so although I appreciate you input I am afraid it is not correct

I'd assume it happens that way because most people earn points through offers or auctions instead of actually buying them. Personally I'd rather spend double the value in earned points over shelling out the cash.
