Super Cute Vintage Seed bag that held Timothy Seeds which are used together with alfalfa and clover for hay and pasture on farms throughout North America.
Made by L. Teweles Seed Co of Milwaukee WI. The company was the 2nd largest forage seed company in North America and was sold in 1972 to Kent feeds.
The former building of the seed company is now Luxury Lofts and Apartments- Cannot say when this bag is from only pre 1972 but I believe that heavy paper bags were in use even in the mid 1960's so this is likely pre 1965?
Holds one bushel, the linen fabric is in good un-washed condition and the graphics are semi faded but seems to be normal for this bag. No holes but a few faint stains which kind of adds to its Ag / Farm Charm!
Would make a cute pillow or re-use your way. I put a towel in the bag and propped it up like a pillow in the last photo but it looks lighter than the actual color but on my back porch with lots of windows.
Bag measures: 14" wide X 28.5" Long
Only 1 side seam and seamed along the bottom.
Its CooL, but Not perfect- perfectly wonderful? I think so.
I had to antique finish my photos because they looked so white, well the antique is more yellow than the actual bag but better than the white color that the photos came out as.
I have other vintage at auction this week and being an oldie on Listia Believe in FREE SHIPPING so often my starting bids pay only mailing costs.
