The listing, VINTAGE MID CENTURY BOX has ended.

This auction is for an old, half a century old jewel box or keepsake trinket box. picked up at an estate sale. was told it was made in india. it's hard to see but it's handcarved and flowers carved out of the wood. beautiful 3d version! but, yes it's beautiful. i'm using my points to get christmas things~like all of us. even smells antique, if that makes any sense! lol. oh, and it's 2 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches across. happy bidding! gin gets priority mail!

Yep! Just took it off my shelf to look at it and it is identical as yours except that mine has no lining on the inside! Idk if the lining in it is original or not but either way it's a beautiful box! I'll be watching and biding! It would be great to have a matching set!

I believe the box is teak and the white inlay is ivory

It's a sewing box hence the need for felt lining the top holds all your needles and the bottom holds all your threads. My mom was a Indian and I have hers she used it all the time making quilts. I too would love to have this box.

I have the same exact box too! It doesn't have the lining either. I lucked out and got mine from GoodWill for $1.99...too cool!
