thanks :) the straps on the Chaps purse are approx 15" from one side to the other. they have somewhere in the neighborhood of 7" clearance. It's a comfortable handbag, and you can put it on your forearm. If you are thin, you could carry on your shoulder, but it is not a "shoulder" bag imo. It is really cute. Good luck if you bid!
