Sage has fuzzy grey-green oblong leaves and blue flowers, and will grow up to about 3 feet tall.. Likes well-drained rich soil with good nitrogen content and takes full sun; tolerates dry conditions. Cold hardy to Zone 4.

Thomas Jefferson, our 3rd president, grew sage at Monticello. In addition to being useful and delicious, sage will form a lovely, ornamental dwarf shrub that attracts bees and butterflies, but not deer.

Use it fresh, or bundle up small bunches and hang upside down to dry. It's specially wonderful with poultry & pork. Sage is used medicinally as well What's not to like?
