We have these in TN and they are so beautiful. I love the rich pink colors they are the most beautiful of the other colors. I just planet my tree in 2001 N in 2002 it was blooming out. It survived my house fire in 02 n survived being cut in half by contractors rebuilding. But then they plowed the whole tree roots and all down N I lost it. Ya can see new trees sprouting up where ever the roots are established n some times ya can pluck them out of the ground n move them and they will survive. I did this 2 year ago, but my new husbands cats dug the ground and killed them! So yes they are very hardy with most conditions n situations. Hope this info helps ya out. I have fanned ya and will watch this one. TY for listing.

Oh wow that's even more hardy than I had thought! Thanks so much for the info! :) Sorry you lost your tree, tho. I've had some pretty good success with these in pots. Biggest was over 6 ft tall (3rd summer) before I took it out of the pot and planted it in the ground. Maybe you could try that with one of your lil seedlings!
