These trees are native to southwestern and eastern Asia. They are named after the man to introduced them to Europe, Filippo degli Albizzi. Other common names are the Persian Silk Tree, or Pink Siris. Some people call them Lenkoran Acacia or the ***** Tamarind even though they aren't closely related to either group.
They are hardy in zones 7-9 but sometimes can survive in zone 6. If in zone 6 or below its best as an indoor, or seasonal outside plant. It's a small to average deciduous tree reaching 15-40 feet tall, as well as wide. It's self pollinating so no need for doing it by hand. They prefer full sun but can tolerate minimal shade. It can tolerate a wide range of soil conditions. Anything from 4.0-8.0. They can last is most soils but prefer a sandy loam.
