When I first started listing auctions on Listia, the approximate credits value was 1000 credits was equal to about $1. Now it does not seem that this is the case. You could tell mostly by postage stamps, and gift cards. Sometimes a $50 gift card goes for as many as 90,000 credits. So in light of that fact, a lot of my GIN’S have gone up. This is because I cannot get gift cards for the amount I used to, or get postage stamps at a reasonable credit amount. So now when you see my GIN AMOUNT, you would understand why it is that high. Now, it takes about 1800 credits to equal a dollar. Not all people realized that when I get a GIN AMOUNT, Listia takes 10% of that amount. Just wanted my loyal customers to know why some things have gone up.

Hey, I'm a fan, but your math is a little suspect. I can purchase 36,400 Lista credits for 40.00 US. At that price (the best deal they offer) I get 910 credits per one US dollar spent. This auction lists the entire 1985 Commemorative set at 55,000 credits. It would take me $60.44 US to buy enough credits to purchase your set. Alternatively, I can purchase the stamps at Mystic Stamps (considered the HIGHEST priced online stamps service) for $48.95 US. Kucia Phliately offers them mint, WITH mounts and descriptive booklet, for 15$ US.

I can purchase 36,400 listia credits $40. if I want to take that 36,400 listia credits and try to purchase a $50 Amazon gift card it would take over 80,000 credits to get it. If you look up things that have a set monetary value, you will find that it takes more credits to "buy" those things. All you would have to do is look at one Troy ounce silver coins, complete books of forever stamps, and other things to find that your 36,400 listia credits do not go as far. Now I take some of my earned listia credits and "purchase" Amazon gift cards so I can order things that I really need on Amazon, including food. So I am rummaging through my "stuff" and finding things that I do not need any longer and then getting gift cards. Take a look at Walmart gift cards that I would be able to purchase gas or food with. Look at fast food places or restaurant gift cards the same goes for those cards also. So in short I am just trying to keep pace with inflation and get a decent bid on my items so I can buy food. If you don't like it, you do not have to bid.
