Where in the city do you live? I was born in Brooklyn and lived in flushing and canarsie until I moved to Texas in 1993. Then I moved to Kentucky when my son got married about 9 years ago. I go home as often as I can. I've been sick and its been 10 months but I'm going back next month. I go back to the island. Nassau county. I need to be with normal people who sound like me. I still sound like a "Yankee". This is a really small town and I'm a real New Yorker..not a sweet southerners. Don't quite fit.

Lmaooo I'm from Brooklyn too!!! Born & raised in gravesend, lived in Flatbush for a bit, lived in Bensonhurst, and now we are In Staten Island. My hubby worked in flushing until they transferred him into Staten Island. I thought about leaving NYC but as you can see, that never happened lmbo

I miss New York every day. Every county has their own school system. The superintendent rules. You KNOW everyone in this district knows this grandma's voice ..My grandson is special needs and I fight constantly f or everything I think he's entitled to. I lived in east Flatbush growing up. Listia brings all of us together...doesn't it. My grandson tells everyone at school...My grandma is from Brooklyn..she doesn't play!!!!!
