It's not a different baking method, but rather an educational method using step-by-step black and white photographs. The result is a booklet with photo instructions along with the recipes and variations for pies & fillings -- what we might call an early version of the video tutorial!
Staple-bound booklet measures 7 5/8s by 5 7/16s inches; 26 pages, plus covers.
