how does a "new" laptop not have a disc drive......
if you order online from a store, it comes in the manufacturing packaging from the manufacturer. like walmarts. i just find it pretty stupid to not ship it without a disc drive, its barely what, 40 lbs if that? even that would be a heavy laptop lol.its like saying, you ship your car without a radio because of weight.
I agree with you. I'd never get any type of laptop/netbook without a disc drive. It would drive me crazy i short order. Most people I know that have netbooks have would up buying USB disc drives to have one.
i just dont deal with net books haha. i had three different laptops but different problems with them, keyboard, screen broekn. so i just took them all apart and refurbished the parts, now i am parting out on listia. as well as my desktop. i had a spare that i never used, took that all apart and combinded the parts i could use with the one im on now which i updated to Vista yesterday. and now am parting out the frame and all the motherboards and parts completey refurbished again on lista for someone that wants a project computer or to build their own with the frame and all the hardware included. so idk, im no computer geek but i know what im doing with em.
not really, its fairly simple. takes about 25 minutes to dismantle a computer, and if u can see how they are plugged in? then just plug the other one in the same way. you dont need a crash course or anything, its just alot of reading the numbers, comparing and making sure its the right wires going where. now to BUILD a computer, then yeah you may need a little technical assistance and know how to solder and read schematics. but thats what the internet is for! hahaha
