The listing, Black 4G LG OPTIMUS ZONE ANDROID TOUCHSCREEN SMARTPHONE – Prepay OK - NEW, but READ VERY CAREFULLY has ended.

A WOW of a phone: new, no scratches, works great, BUT I found it in a Dollar General Dumpster. It was thrown away without removal from its protective box, without accessories. I added: battery, battery door (cover) & wall charger to make it whole. Clear ESN.

Since it was disposed of, that means that it was not acknowledged as a purchase via DG’s checkout. According to packaging, it must pass through checkout before one can proceed with provider registration. I have no idea if the phone can be activated considering the circumstances. HOWEVER, I’ve sold DG ‘Dumpster phones’ before and was told that they were activated. I MAKE NO GUARANTEES.

If you have questions as to which providers can activate this phone, please CONTACT THE PROVIDER BEFORE BIDDING. I cannot attest to how providers do business. There will be no refund if a winner does not do their homework.

I hope that I understand your question correctly. If not, please clarify.

When you submit your highest bid, it is called proxy bidding. It's held in 'escrow.' As others, bid, your bid continues to rise to its max until someone outbids your highest bid.

For example, if you placed your bid at 10, only 1 credit will show. That's because you are the only bidder. The next person might bid 15, so they will outbid you and the credits will jump to 15.

I can't get to the menus due to lack of activation; however, it has been my experience with the LG's that Google Play and other similar apps are installed. This is not to say that Google Play is definitely installed on this phone. The best apps for the Zone are listed here:

I did some research on the Zone and some of it indicates that Google Play is installed. I added a stock photo to show the home screen but it does not show GP (which is usually on a sub menu).

I caution you that if you are considering this phone for someone else you must find out if the phone can be activated by Verizon Prepay or by their chosen provider before bidding. If you haven't done so already, please read the description thoroughly.

If it came fro DG then it most likely Straght Talk I have this exact one and it only takes the $45 card all you need to do is call them to activate or reactivate

You are right. The packaging advocated Straight Talk; however, some people want to try to find other providers. It is up to them to find out if their favorite provider will cooperate with this phone. They need to do so before bidding.
