Alrighty folks...it's time we have a chat. Lately there has been an on slaught of fake turquoise here and on other sites.

Most I have seen has been dyed Howlite. Howlite has spider like veins that have a pattern similar to turquoise. It you suspect that howlite turquoise is being sold as the real McCoy, study the matrix. If the lines are grey (or dyed brown) and thin , there is a good chance you might be holding dyed howlite.

Like the lovely earrings above...It is not bad looking, but, it's not real Turquoise. :-)

These are lovely turquoised color howlite earrings with black and purple feathers and rhinestone accent beads. Uber cute!

Amen sister! It's so disappointing to bid high for somthing & receive dyed howlite. howlite is pretty also, but worth far less than the real turquoise. I own both real & unreal turquoise, but if I buy from someone "as real" and it turns out that its not real, I wont buy again from that person. It can be easy for someone uneducated to make a mistake though too, but at least explain it if you dont know whether its real or not, then people can bid accordingly!The earrings above are really cute by the way!

Lol...no... they ended too low for me last time. I would think vinatge serpentine jade should have ended at a little more than 1200 credits. I might list another set later but I have several hundered other items to list before I get desperate...lol.

They hang down about 2.5 to 3 inches, so not to insane a length. I wear my hair down when I wear the pair I own and they don't look half bad. :-)
