Is this or your other item better as far as the shock collars go? I saw two listings from you about shock collars and I was just wondering which one to bid on. Thanks

Well, to be honest, my dog has a high pain tolerance or the shock just isn't that strong or whatever. The shock part we hardly used because it seemed so in effective on OUR dog. We put in on my friends dog and it had different effects. Not painful but irritated their dog more so I guess it's different on different dogs.
If barking is the main problem, the other listing is better since it is reactive instantly to barking and the high pitch noise is just like blowing a dog whistle I guess so they know. The shock probably helps but we never really set that.
This one is better for like when you bring your dog out and they want to charge at birds or kids or other pets then you can manually vibrate the collar or shock. It's a progressive shocking too so it's not like BAM and the dog flops over lol. It builds up in intensity. We've tested it on our wrists. It builds up pretty strong but nothing painful.
They are both effective but take some time and consistency.

You'll want to get that fixed... Sadly I have a friend whose cat ate strings and hair and it got one stuck and ended up dieing from it... My dog was eating out of our trash can when it got too full and I was worried because chicken bones can do some serious damage but everything must have worked itself out or she didn't get anything too big

what size is the collar? Is it for a little dog or a big one?
Mar 24th, 2010 at 5:19:41 PM PDT by
Original
Hrm, well the collar is adjustable. It fits my 23lb schnauzer and can get a little smaller and larger. If you need to know the exact measurement of the collars radius I could measure it...

I doubt it's waterproof. Maybe a little rain resistant but yeah that's probably about it

These are so awesome!! Had one that was for restricting rooms in the house so my dog wouldn't chew on my kids toys. Tested it once on myself (threw it across the room when it zapped me! LOL) will be watching this for sure!!

Lol yeah, I actually think it does shock a bit more than I like for me but my wife can sit there and literally hold it as if it was doing nothing. She likes to make me feel wimpy I guess haha. Funny to watch her fingers twitch from it though

Well, if this fits your 23 lb dog, I doubt if it would fit my 100 pit bull. too bad. we need something just like this to keep him in his own yard.

yeah, The collar that comes with it may not fit a large neck like that but if you have an extra collar you'd be able to get this to fit on it easily enough. I'm not sure offhand but the collar would just have to be the same width as the one included

My dog weigs about 10 or 11 lbs will this help to keep him off furnirure?
Mar 28th, 2010 at 5:26:07 PM PDT by
Original
Well, it really would but you'd have to really spend some time training with this since you have to manually vibrate or shock when he tries to jump on the furniture. I'm sure it wouldn't take long but this would probably work great if you were consistent with the training.
