Description

The listing, *Ship Wreck Treasure* Constans 337-350 A.D. Authentic! has ended.

This coin is a Constans Roman coin dated somewhere between 337 - 350 A.D. This particular strike was minted at Thessalonica. Unlike the other coin I have up for bids, I KNOW this one is 100% authentic.

It was given to me by my mother-in-law after she got a small group of shipwreck coins from an auction somewhere. She quickly lost interest in them because she didn't have the time to research them.

She knew I was into coins, so she let me sort through the coins and pick out what I wanted. Out of 5 coins, I only picked this one, because it had enough visible details, I felt confident I could identify it. Sure enough, I did! The only thing I regret is that I could not verify from which shipwreck the coin came, and my mother-in-law didn't keep the auction information.

What's really cool about this coin is that you can still see coral remnants attached to it from when it was in the ocean! I did not try to clean it off because I know that takes away from the value, and I didn't want to risk damaging such an old coin.

The first two pictures are of my coin, the one you're bidding on. The last set of pictures is of a very similar strike of the same era for comparison.

If you compare the photos of my coin to the example image, you can make out Constans' pony tail and portions of his hair, outlines of his nose and face, even through the coral remnants on my coin! Too cool!

I have kept the coin in an air-tight holder for protection from the elements. I've had it about 5 years now. Decided it was time to let it go to someone who will appreciate it and display it. It's just been sitting in my keep sake box, forgotten.

Enjoy the auction ~ this one's super cool! ^_^

The first two photos are of my coin. The other photo is of a "similar" coin, as I stated - not the same coin.
