Have a large area you would like to fill? Try these beautiful flowers!
Annual: Extremely easy to grow, late blooming flowers (1st photo taken Oct/10/14, 2nd photo taken mid Sep/14). Mature plants are approx 2'H x 1-/1/2'W and look best planted in groups. Prefers partial to full sun, tolerates drought and poor soil. Simply sow directly into ground after all danger of frost has passed. Because of their size and blooming time, I plant them in the front of my gardens to hide the dying foliage of other plants. I am in Zone 5 and have had spectacular success with these flowers. Seeds easily collected, store dry, such as in an envelope.
Shipped via standard mail, applied at post office to ensure proper postage has been added.

Thank you, I'm glad you like these. I haven't seen red ones in all my 20+years of planting these flowers. Some catologues call the magenta ones red. Hope that helps!

Although some seed catalogues promise red (and I have bought them), the closest I have ever seen to red in 20yrs is magenta. As far as I know, they do only come in four solid colours: white, yellow, pink and magenta. The variegated ones I have are what has occurred naturally through five summer's of cross pollination from a single package of solid colour seeds. Hope that helps.

That's what we startedwith and throu gh cross policy. We now have yellow /white, magenta, yellow, pink/white, off red its like a orange red, and yellow /pink.
There is a red Chinese heirloom 4O'Clocks but they are a much more red than mine.

Should you ever run across any true red, I'd be interested in knowing where you found them. Although they could possibly come from a more tropical climate. They are a perennial in zones 9-11
