This is a very hard to come by and very collectible German (preussen empire) 1876 silver 2 mark (dollar) coin. It has a c mint mark making it more valuable than other mints of this coin. In this condition this coin sells on ebay for up to 300 dollars and as low as 80 making it very valuable. Weight is .385 of an ounce.

I'm sorry but eBay is not a great reference. NGC.com or world coin gallery.com would be better sources. Love this coin though and will be bidding soon.

I agree and disagree. Ebay is a very good source if the coin is getting the bids of the amount I listed in the details because then you know people are willing to pay that much, which makes it worth that amount. And the coin grading sites are only priced at what the coin is worth to some people. To me I'd only pay ten..to a serious collector of these coins I might pay 100 especially if I need this one.

Numismatic value is based on many factors and that is what ngc .com is for. They take prices from what people pay for the coins in a certain grade and that's how they get their prices on their guide. Its a very useful site. I use it many times a day. Their prices are also based on intrinsic value as well. EBay is only what people are paying at that point in time. Prices can be a lot different there say next week the coin could be selling for $20 less. That's all I meant by what I said. I wasn't trying to be rude. Sorry if I came off like that.
