thank you ! I just looked closer and the front of the medal shows st. francis with either a large dog or a small deer and he is petting it. I looked further and the length is approx. 26 inches including medal - it has on the end a safety clasp - about two inches up from the medal it has a small metal loop and that would be where you clasp it if you so desire - can't remember what I said in the listing, but on the back of the medal is a rose and it says "pray for us" it also says "Italy" - it is indeed lovely. thanks for your interest :)
