I love to send stuff in regular white envelopes. I'm a greenie so I save those bill envelopes and stick a piece of paper in the mail window. What I do is wrap the item in a paper towel w/tape or reinforce it with a piece of card stock around it which makes it flatter for shipping. You can calculate postage on the USPS site if you weight the item at home with a standard food scale too by using http://postcalc.usps.gov/ or you can try the stamps.com account for the trial period and use their scale you get when you sign up to get the hang of it. Plus you get a shipping discount and it's a really easy program to use to calculate shipping. I list a ton of auctions on here and use free shipping every time because I know how cheap ppl are :) I budget myself for $20/mo in postage but u can do whatever makes you comfortable. I put terms on my auctions to tell people that I'm a trusted seller so if they don't get it, it's USPS's fault. And you will have a ton of newbies on here asking all types of dumb questions. Don't worry about them, they will be eventually weeded out and you will meet the good ones. Hopefully this helps save you some $$. Also, listing things in Lots helps save you shipping and earns you more credits!

Just a suggestion, I wear 2G and have a pair like this, it would cost you .88 to send these. Perhaps if you only charged $1 or even free shipping you would get more bids. Also, according to listia rules, buyers have 7days to contact http://www.listia.com/rules Sorry you have had difficulties with this site before, there are a lot of scammers but there are a TON of kind people on here just looking to give away their treasures to others who will appreciate them. Fanned you.

What kind of envelopes do you use for mailing? I've tried standard envelope sized bubble packages and they all end up being 1.71 if they're under a certain weight. That's the least price they go i guess. Then i've tried regular white envelopes with no padding or anything and it stll ends up being 1.71. Like the little yarn bookmarks i auctioned off a few weeks ago, they didn't weigh anymore than a few sheets of paper and it still ended up being 1.71. Maybe my post office is jipping me or i dont know what i'm doing. Lol. Any pointers on cheaper outgoing mail?
